Hey, it’s Louise and welcome to my corner of the internet!
My career so far has been pretty varied. People say you should focus on one thing and get really good at that, but for me grabbing all opportunities with both hands and leaping in has been all part of the fun! From the west end to touring gigs, countless recordings and live work with my own line up. I decided to break the mould and do what I fancied doing. I mean why not ? It’s kept me afloat for almost 30 years.
QUIRKY AND A BIT CRAZY ?!
I have to warn you though, I am a quirky musician who loves the experimental craziness that comes with the harmonious stories in my head. Sometimes I don’t even know when they are going to end! Free spirited and fully embracing the sprinkles of emotion! You might find yourself surprised and moved when you come to a live gig as a lot of stuff happens ‘off the cuff’ – anything and everything can happen! It tends to be an eclectic mix of improvisation and organic flavours. If you can handle it, then book a ticket cause I’d love to meet you!
I really love having the variation in my life where I am able to be part of so many elements in the music industry and bounce off ideas and intermingle my childhood basic disciplines into the person I am now.
JOOLS & M
You will probably have seen me on Hootenanny at the Annual Jools broadcast singing in the new year. It’s been such a ride with Jools since 2006 and I absolutely love headlining with him plus backing some of the greatest performers in the world. The vibe in the band is joyous and LOUD! Being pregnant with my daughter singing at the Royal Albert Hall in my first year with Jools was a special highlight. (she’s now a teenager and a mini dancer/singer).
Jools Holland says, ”I have been fortunate to work with some of the greatest singers in the world. I can truly say that Louise Marshall is one of these. I’m so delighted to hear the first flowering of her solo recorded work and it’s as wonderful and enchanting as she is.”
OTHER LIVE PERFORMANCES
One of the six singers for Adiemus – Concert at the Royal Albert Hall in London, 1996. Plus, Back up singing for these iconic legends, David Gilmour, Beverley Knight, Marc Almond, Dionne Warwick, Chaka Khan.
THEATRE
I have been blessed to perform in 3 West End Shows in my career which led me to another way of performing. When I auditioned for Jesus Christ Superstar, I did feel like a little girl on a gigantic stage, and to be part of an amazing cast was daunting but I was ready to try a new challenge and new adventure into the ‘8 shows a week’ world. At that stage, I was happy to be in the ensemble, and hide behind everyone else, enjoy singing the chorus parts. Now I’m ready to sing those lead vocals
MY OWN SONGS
After decades working with famous people (Paul Weller, Michael Ball) I developed my own sound, my own flavours and enhancements, I literally absorbed all the experiences – and it inspired me to write my own albums. My song ideas wake me up and I have to get my phone, record the basic tune and play the chords so I can come back to it later
‘Glad you’re here and can’t wait to share my sprinkles with you!’
