Skyline Recordings are incredibly excited to present this outstanding group that is Marsh Mellow – the combined talents of vocalist extraordinaire, Louise Clare Marshall and legendary bassist/composer/arranger, Geoff Gascoyne.

Geoff has played with legends such as Van Morrison, Eartha Kitt, Michel Legrand, Georgie Fame, Bob Dorough, Mari Wilson, Eddie Izzard, Mingus Big Band, Sting and many more. All while taking time to be a Professor at the Guildhall School of Music; composing music for KPM and BMG and being Jamie Cullum’s musical director and chief arranger for 8 years.

Two utterly brilliant musicians, at the top of their respective fields had only ever performed together for others. They didn’t know the incredible chemistry that was to follow when they finally worked together – unusually during the Covid 19 lockdown – when Geoff created an online song writing club which Louise joined instantly.

Happy On My Own and Stop, Look, Listen were the brainchildren of some of these sessions.

Happy On My Own was inspired by the having to be on your own during lockdown; however, it is entirely relatable to many other situations where you find yourself alone. What is so significant about this song is the pure joy it gives you. Both words and music are positive and compelling. A real twist on the usual sad ‘all alone’ vibe we’ve heard so many times before.

Happy On My Own is a mid-tempo vocal track that hits all the right spots, makes you want to dance, makes you feel happy, excited and it doesn’t make you feel lonely because we’re all happy on our own.

Stop, Look, Listen is super soulful slow jam where you feel the music and the sound around it, an essential soul number.

This is a must-have double A 45rpm. Louise and Geoff are so excited that this will be their own vinyl first.
