One day I’ll have room for a fridge, but for now, this is permanent garden essential whilst Iisten to all my musical projects.

Delights and wonder to have 2 nights at the fabulous Dunmow Music Club in Great Dunmow, Essex on Fri and Sat 24/25th April. A joy to play with Ben Worsley, guitar, Steve Walters on bass and Karl Vanden Bossche giving it rhythmical percussion vibes for our acoustic sets. Thank you to Mick Wilson for getting in contact with me and sorting this date out a year ago. A lot of hard work and brilliant planning from everyone behind the scenes of such a wonderful organisation. Brilliant. Gorgeous to have both evenings opened by Evelyn White on vocals and guitar and Robert Vincent with sublime songs and heartfelt performances. Old songs, new songs and cover tunes, including ‘Afraid to Feel’ too. Thank you to Alicia for coming along and doing some beau filming too and just bring there with me. Hurrrrrahhh

A joyous trip with Jools and the Orchestra to Antwerp, and meeting old and friends, Hasselt, meeting one of greatest DJ playing all the 45 records, Blue Flamingo, Amsterdam performing at The Paradiso, and two private gigs at Soho House in Amsterdam and The Hague in front of many fabulous guests hosted by the fabulous British Ambassador of Netherlands, Joanna Roper, beautiful people and wonderful restaurants and great venues.

A wondrous trip to Belgium, Netherlands, Luxembourg, Austria, Switzerland and Germany. Beautiful venues and people and music making. Joyous to be with Jools Holland, THANK YOU; Sumudu Jayatilaka, Ed Richardson and Dave Swift. Tour manager of dreams, Steve Taylor. Top skills and brilliance, Al Hetherington, driving us all over the place beautifully. Thank you to Willi Turk and all the promoters and wonderful wine, sauerkrauts, Bavarian restaurants, hills, mountains and hotels. Glorious to be home to be in the garden and see family and cats at home. Sorry that there’s no sound of the glorious clapping audience, it was very very fabulous and loud.

Touring delights, Trinkhalle in Bad Ischl, long long drives, thank you to Al Hetherington for being totally amazing, day off in Ulm and good to connect with the ground, fully booked up restaurants and patience finding somewhere to eat. Onwards to a gig in Chur at The Streaming Hall in the mountains, then running to play at Moods in Zurich. Touring life, wouldn’t change it for the world. Joyous times with Jools, Sumudu, Ed and Dave. Excellence by Steve Taylor and Al Hetherington. Venue staff, lighting and sound engineers, promoters and eateries, backstage glory and wondrous shops. One more gig in Stuttgart.

A joyous day at Maida Vale Studios with the wondrous Deacon Blue, what a beautiful collection of folk in one band, thank you to welcoming both Sumudu and myself to sing bv’s in your latest single Late 88 and Beyoncé’s Texas Hold ‘Em, which is actually now known as Texas Oldham, much better I feel. Great shoe appreciation sharing with Lorraine McIntosh afterwards. Then I get to sing Vernon Kay’s jingle to him live in his studio, so a great morning had by all. Sunday afternoon firstly in Frinton to sing joyous songs to all the folk at Frinton Lawn Tennis Club with @dereknashsax George Double on drums, @geoffgascoyne bass & @neilangilley on keys. We had an amazing time. Then Monday to Paris to sing at The Theatre du Chatalet, with Jools Holland and the orchestra, @sumudusinger @marcalmondofficial @rubyturner_soul and @tobyleeguitar. An absolute delight and wonder to see my dear friend @billie.godfrey_singer_songwrtr and beauteous daughter @ella.mtll before and after the show, a joyous local honey gift from @tildipooh_and_betty_too who I didn’t see you in the flesh sadly. Rainy Paris was still wonderful.

A wonderful time at Ronnie’s this week, sharing the stage with the Stacey brothers, Jeremy and Paul. The total joy to stand & sing next to Bryan Chambers and Sumudu Jayatilaka. The spendidness of Andy Caine on vocals and guitar, the depth of Robin Mallarkey on bass, the keyboard sprinkles of Dave Arch and Gary Sanctuary, percussion flavours from both Pete Eckford & Jodi Linscott, plus the brass chops of Simon Finch & Dom Glover on trumpets, Jim Hunt, James Gardiner-Bateman & Andy Ross on saxes & Trevor Mires on Trombone.
Big thanks to Miles Ashton on sound and Charlie Dale, also on sound and lighting, making the stage feel brilliance, you made a very special time at Ronnie’s very delicious. Thank you to ALL friends and family who came to support all the 10 gigs we were blessed to do, joyous to see lots of Oldhamers coming up randomly. Love it when people come and chat. Great to perform to my brother and sister as well, Melanie and Wayne and to see Sally Dynevor who I did Panto (obvs many years ago)

Joyous to be part of the backing vocals of glory f

Joyous to be part of the backing vocals of glory for this years 2024/2025 Hootenanny alongside Bryan chambers, Sumudu Jayatilaka and Lucita Jules and to be blessed to not only sing Auld Lang Syne, but to get a call from Jools to ask if I would sing the duet with Roger Taylor for ‘Under Pressure’, full high chest & unbelievably can’t believe it pinch moment. So with that knowledge, full practicing of those lyrics going into my head so they would flow beautifully upon that day of rehearsals and recording/filming. Those who know me know that lyrics are not my strong point but by jove, I worked very hard to get those lyrics right for the TV, thanks to CJ for her guidance. Auld Lang Syne first, thank you always to Antonia Castle for helping every year….. catsuit on and giving it full gorgeness for the utterly stunning Roger and the performance of the Lord and his amazing song. Full praise and thank you to Jools, Roger, surrounding love by friends and their guidance at such a momentous moment. We never stopped learning & the surprises will always come forth and give you a sharp WAKE UP and rejoicements…..beautiful arrangements by everyone in the Orchestra and especially deliciousness to Anna, Winston and Fayyaz, Phil, Derek, Chris Storr, Jason and Roger and everyone making it truly another honoured time upon the TV on New Years Eve. Glory hallelujah and onwards to 2025 and beyond. Extra special having Melanie and Alicia is in the audience this year and Danny playing in the orchestra too… so many folk to give thanks to, especially the camera people, direction and editing skills of Janet and my Beau friends who I see only once a year, Mandy, Annabel, they make it happen.

A wondrous time at the Bridgewater Hall singing the Music of Queen, created by West End International. A joy to sing alongside the vocals of glory, Alice Fearn, Nicole Raquel Dennis, Nick Shirm and Alex Gaumond, and me guiding the delights of Emma Lovatt and Grace Tarrant in the bv section. Tremendous thank you to Alison Price and Martin Yates with their excellence and planning for a great show and the wondrous Halle Orchestra conducted beautifully by Stephen Bell. We all had a great time in Manchester, my hometown and being in the hall where my brother has his pipe organ to his own specifications, like you do,…. Joyous and onwards to bring in the New Year with merriment and sprinkles.

An unbelievably brilliant UK tour with Jools Holland and the band with Toby Lee, Sumudu Jayatilaka, Mabel Ray, Ruby Turner, Mark Almond, Paul Weller & Ladyva being wondrous in our solo spots.
We toured the UK, I saw lots of lovely friends on the way, I had my lovely daughter Alicia with me joining the crew working hard to make the whole thing an amazing tour. We were joined by Ed Richardson on the drums and we said a sad farewell to Gilson Lavis and to Andy Salmon retiring from their many dedicated years working with Jools and the band. We look forward on 2025 and thank all of the beautiful audiences and venues, guests, sound, lights, Catering wonders and drivers of the world that makes the whole job a delight. #joolsholland
